Welcome to Canterbury Memorial Gardens & Crematorium
We offer a caring and personal service at the most trying times of grief.
COVID-19 has changed the way we live, work and play. We are all in this together.
What hasn’t changed is our steadfast commitment to honouring your loved ones, respectfully and with dignity. As an essential service we will continue to deliver professional services to be proud of.
We are well prepared, and have put in place new ways of working that will protect our staff and your family. Our customer service and hygienic standards are of the highest standard. We won’t compromise on this.
We may not be able to bring communities physically together for a Funeral Service, however, we can bring you all together via our web stream facilities and other modes of technology.
Our team is empathic, innovative and are there for you. Please talk to us.
Since 1936, the Canterbury Memorial Gardens & Crematorium has provided security and peace of mind to families through its dignified and dedicated service at times of bereavement.
We are open to the public every day, showcasing our beautifully landscaped grounds as a final tribute to a family member or friend. A place of peace and respect, the gardens are set apart for the placing of individual Memorial plaques in a variety of picturesque settings. Our chapel facilities can also accommodate funeral services of any size in attractive and tranquil surroundings.
The crematorium has been privately owned since 1936, when it was founded by Thomas Loftus Jones. The team of loyal, long serving staff members at the Canterbury Gardens & Crematorium offer a comprehensive range of services to those in need.
Over the years, the Canterbury Memorial Gardens & Crematorium has grown to a total area of over 20 acres, including extensive garden areas and memorial niches. InvoCare also owns the Harewood Memorial Gardens and Crematorium, providing similar facilities in North Christchurch.
